Online Counselling Thailand
Accessing Online Counselling in Thailand
Online counselling in Thailand is offered by our team of 20 highly experienced therapists, including both native English and Thai counsellors, providing therapy services in multiple languages to clients residing in Thailand and abroad. This has allowed more clients to seek help and support where in person counselling is limited or nonexistent in some of the remoter parts of Thailand or abroad (specifically in Thai language)
Since launching in 2018 our counselling team has grown not just in numbers but in experience, expertise and multilingualism. We are delighted to offer counselling and therapy services in several languages including English, Thai, Mandarin, Malay, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Korean, Hindu, Punjabi and Urdu.
We offer online counselling for adults, children, teens, couples, with specialist knowledge in many areas including anxiety, depression, alcohol & substance abuse, trauma, PTSD, C-PTSD, LGBTQ+, couples therapy, marriage counselling and Thai Western Relationship counselling
The majority of our international clients are native Thais residing overseas, seeking individual sessions or couples therapy with their Western partners. However, we also work with several clients whose native language is English. They have either been referred to us by previous clients or have chosen our services due to our more affordable counselling fees compared to those in the US, Canada and several countries in Europe.
An Overview of Online Counselling
In today’s digital age, the availability of online counselling has revolutionised the field of mental health services. Online counselling, also known as e-counseling or teletherapy, refers to the provision of counselling services through digital platforms such as video calls, phone calls, email, or instant messaging. This mode of counselling has gained significant popularity due to its accessibility, convenience, and effectiveness. In this web page, we will provide an overview of online counselling, discuss its benefits, and address some frequently asked questions to help you understand its potential as a counselling service.
Online counseling utilises various digital communication tools to facilitate therapeutic interactions between clients and professional counsellors. It offers individuals the opportunity to receive counselling services from the comfort of their own homes or any other location, eliminating the need for in-person visits. Online counselling in Thailand can be conducted in real-time through video calls, allowing clients to communicate with their therapists remotely.
While various means of online communication, such as SMS or email, are used by some counselling/therapy providers, our experience has shown that video calls offer the most effective and personal experience. Many clients who initially tried online counselling during travel or lockdown periods, such as the recent Covid-19 pandemic, now prefer it due to the numerous benefits it provides.
Benefits of Online Counselling in Thailand
In our experience and according to several studies online counselling can provide the same level of care as in-person counselling, allowing you to see, hear, and interact directly with your counsellor, regardless of geographical distance. Whether you’re struggling to find a local counsellor or require tailor made therapy for specific concerns, online counselling offers a viable solution. You can receive support for a wide range of issues. For individuals who lack access to essential services, online counselling can be a lifeline.
Accessibility: Online counselling breaks down geographical barriers, making counselling services accessible to individuals in remote areas, those with mobility constraints, or those who face transportation issues. It allows clients to connect with professionals from anywhere in the world, broadening the range of available support resources
Convenience: With online counselling, clients have the flexibility to schedule sessions at a time that suits their needs. They can avoid the hassles of commuting, waiting rooms, and time constraints. Online counselling also eliminates the need for time off work or school, making it more convenient for busy individuals.
Expanded Therapist Options: Online counselling allows clients to choose from a wider range of therapists who may specialise in specific areas or offer expertise that may not be locally available. This expanded selection increases the likelihood of finding a therapist who is the right fit for the client’s unique needs.
Enhanced Comfort and Familiarity: Clients often feel more at ease in their own environment during online counselling sessions. This comfort can lead to increased openness and honesty in discussions with the therapist, which can facilitate more effective therapy outcomes.
Reduced Waiting Times: In traditional face-to-face counselling, there might be waiting lists or limited appointment slots. Online counselling can often provide quicker access to therapy, reducing the wait time for clients seeking help.
Access to Multicultural and Multilingual Therapists: The internet allows clients to connect with therapists from different cultural backgrounds and regions worldwide. This diversity can be particularly beneficial for individuals seeking counseling in their native language or for expatriates looking for a therapist who understands their cultural context.
Continuity of Care during Travel or Relocation: Online counselling enables clients to maintain a therapeutic relationship even when they are traveling or moving to a different location, ensuring continuity of care during transitional periods.
Remember that while online counselling offers numerous advantages, it may not be suitable for everyone or all types of issues. It’s essential to take into account individual preferences and circumstances when deciding between online counselling and traditional in-person therapy

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q) Which video platform do I need?
A) All online sessions take place exclusively on Zoom
Q) Do I need to pay for Zoom?
No, you don’t need to pay for Zoom. Our therapists have Zoom professional (pro) accounts, so you can join the online counseling sessions for free by downloading the free version of Zoom.
Q) Can I use by mobile phone for online counselling?
A) While it is possible to use Zoom on your mobile phone, we recommend using a desktop or laptop device for the best experience. Larger screens on these devices are more conducive to effective therapy sessions, and phone notifications can be distracting.

A) Yes, we provide online counselling in several languages including English, Thai, Indonesian, Mandarin, Korean, Vietnamese, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.
For other languages, we recommend checking the International Therapist Directory website, where we are proud members, with over 350 therapists in 50 countries.
Q) Can we receive relationship counselling or couples therapy if we are located in different countries?
A) Absolutely! We understand that long-distance relationships and geographical separation can be challenging. When you fill out the initial online enquiry form, please mention your situation and provide the countries, areas/states, and time zones of both parties.
