MS Counseling Psychology, BEd Early Childhood Education

Rira has extensive experience working with clients in both NGO settings, supporting Korean women and families in Thailand, and in workplace counselling in Bangkok. She has provided individual and group counselling to employees, addressing a range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief, self-compassion, homesickness, and adjustment difficulties.

Fluent in both Korean and English, Rira is able to offer counselling in both languages, enhancing her ability to connect with a diverse range of clients. Her background as a teacher gives her valuable insight into children’s developmental stages and emotional experiences, which she applies when working with younger clients.

Rira is dedicated to building trusting and supportive relationships, allowing clients to freely express and accept themselves. Using an integrative approach, she tailors therapy to each client’s specific goals, drawing on a variety of evidence-based modalities. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for structured problem-solving, Humanistic Therapy to foster personal growth, and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to help clients develop self-kindness. She also incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to promote mental and emotional flexibility, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) for goal-oriented progress, and mindfulness-based interventions to enhance present-moment awareness. For those in group settings, she applies Group Therapy techniques, while Existential Therapy helps clients explore deeper questions of meaning and existence.

By combining these diverse therapeutic tools, Rira ensures that her clients receive personalised, effective support throughout their counselling journey.
